The Bharatanatyam dance school

“NATYASHRAMA”

started admition of students!


The dance classes are to be conducted by professional dancers who have graduated from the Collage of Fine Arts “Kalakhetra”, Chennai, India – Irina Iskorostenskaia & Nadejda Kovriga.

Here you will get acquainted with one of the most refined, graceful, subtle and sophisticated form of dance that has been emerged in south-Indian temples of Tamil Nadu more then two thousand years back.

The classical Bharatanatyam is firmly rooted in Hinduism and custom; the main themes  for the most of the dance compositions are taken from the great epic poems of India – Mahabharata, Ramayana and the Puranas.  

Bharatanatyam is to be considered as one of the Yoga form. For the achievement of perfection in dance, one should go through many years of physical practice, intellectual perfection and spiritual knowledge.

The dance classes are to be conducted in the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center, Indian Embassy,
